The Law Society:
In England & Wales: Professional Skills
Course (PSC)
During the training contract the firm runs the PSC course
internally linking in the Law Society's requirements with those of
Pinsent Masons. This coupled with the carefully selected range of
electives go towards ensuring the training has a practical and
immediate benefit to all the trainees.
In Scotland: Professional Competence Course
(PCC)
The Scottish trainees attend the PCC off-site during their first
year. In addition the trainees in Scotland will also be given
exposure to selected parts of the tailored PSC course.
During each of the four seats all trainees will benefit from
practice-specific courses, seminars and workshops. These will
ensure that you are able to make the most of the opportunities in
each seat. In addition to client and external speaker seminars the
firm encourages lawyers at all levels to share their knowledge and
skills by running training seminars for their peers across
specialisms and industry sectors.
Customised to meet your development goals, the broad-ranging
training programme will empower you to take control of your career
and drive your professional development. It will help you sharpen
your commercial awareness, build your understanding of your
clients' business sectors and enhance your business and IT skills -
