Good Citizenship Matters

There are many good reasons why we, as a business, need to be aware of the impact we have on our neighbourhood – both the one on our doorstep and the wider, global one. As consumers and citizens, we can’t ignore our responsibility to leave that neighbourhood, and our neighbours, in better shape than we found them.

We could of course just throw money at it to salve our consciences – and many firms do. But we believe that personal and communal action is more beneficial to those whom we’re helping (and more rewarding for all) than simply opening a chequebook. We therefore focus our support on operational assistance, backed up with meaningful and targeted donations.

Everyone in the firm had a say in choosing the theme for our corporate responsibility programme, and moved by the writings of Loren Eiseley, we’ve called our programme Starfish.
