Corporate Governance and Board Training

"Corporate governance" is a much used term, but can have a variety of meanings. At its narrowest, it refers to the UK Corporate Governance Code which applies to companies with a premium listing in the UK. More widely, it has become shorthand for the way any organisation is run, with particular emphasis on its accountability, integrity and risk management.

Our corporate governance and directors' training team is led by Martin Webster who has over 25 years' experience giving corporate legal advice to both public and private companies.  Martin is the editor and lead author of The Director's Handbook, the Institute of Directors' guide to a director's duties, responsibilities and liabilities (3rd edition, May 2010). He and his colleagues routinely advise companies and their boards on governance, risk management and general compliance issues, working with directors and senior management as facilitators and trainers to deliver bespoke and practical solutions.
