Corporate Responsibility
There are two ways you can approach Corporate Responsibility (CR). You can adopt a few favoured causes and sign a cheque now and then. Or you can roll up your sleeves and get involved.
Our own CR programme, Starfish, focuses on enriching the lives of young people who may live within minutes of our own offices, yet have little prospect of enjoying the life chances that we often take for granted.
We form community partnerships to raise aspirations, dismantle barriers and give disadvantaged young people a route towards achieving their potential,
We work closely with local schools to foster academic attainment and reduce the number of school leavers ‘not in employment, education or training’.
We work with charities to give young job seekers the guidance and confidence they need to gain a foothold in the workplace.
We sponsor artistic projects that encourage young people to explore the wider possibilities of culture, education and work.
We help to provide high quality in-school sports coaching throughout the UK – and internationally, we’re a principal sponsor of SOS Children’s Villages, the world's largest charity for orphans and abandoned children.
Getting involved can mean helping young people to develop their business ideas, or picking up a paintbrush and redecorating a community hall. There’s no shortage of alternatives – it’s whatever works for you.
By giving something back, we get a lot back ourselves. Not just from doing something worthwhile, but also from understanding how other people experience the world and all its challenges. In opening their eyes, we also open our own.
