Gulf Region

We have over 30 years’ experience of working in the Gulf and have had an established presence since 2004. Our team in the region comes from a range of countries and backgrounds and has close connections to the wider business community.  We are able to offer a broad mix of experience.

We offer a full range of legal services in the region across our Global Sectors, with particular strength in construction advisory and disputes, projects, finance and corporate areas. We recognise the growing global importance of Islamic finance and have a dedicated team of Islamic finance specialists.  Our experts in this field have been successful in developing the legal architecture needed by clients to break new ground in this specialised field. Our Gulf team work from our offices in Dubai, UAE and Doha, Qatar.  We operate in English, but our teams include fluent speakers of Arabic, Mandarin, German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi, to name a few. We have an alliance network with local law firms across the Middle East, ensuring we have the local knowledge and expertise to support client working across the entire region.

For information on our Gulf offices see:

  • Qatar

Our Qatar office, in the Tornado Tower at the centre of Doha’s financial district, operates under the auspices of the Qatar Financial Centre. From our base here we combine local knowledge with an international perspective to effectively advise clients across the globe.

  • United Arab Emirates

With its strategic location as a bridge between east and west, the UAE is a business hub for the Middle East. Like many of the world's multinationals, our Gulf headquarters are in the UAE. Our understanding of the local business environment enables us to work with government entities, locally owned companies and international corporations.

  • Bahrain

Home to some of the world's largest banks, Bahrain has been an important banking centre for many years and its banks have played an important role in the region. With a developing public private partnership programme, it is also attracting more foreign investment. There is huge potential for growth.

  • Egypt

The importance of Egypt cannot be under-estimated given its large population and contribution to the development of the region over many centuries. The influence of Egyptian laws in the Gulf means our understanding of their application in Egypt offers an advantage when working elsewhere in the region.

  • India

Pinsent Masons' association with India originates with one of our founding partners, Ralph Mason, who was a partner in a Calcutta law firm in the 1940s. Since the early 1990s, we've had a specialist group dedicated to working and understanding how to do business in India. We are comfortable operating in the linguistic and cultural environment.

  • Iraq

The case for doing business in Iraq is economically strong as the country rebuilds its infrastructure.‬

  • Kuwait

Kuwait's location at the entrance to the Arabian Gulf and its oil reserves make it an attractive country for investment. It remains a useful staging post for working in Iraq.

  • Oman

We work with international companies who want to do business in Oman. The opportunities in water, power and tourism complement our own industry expertise.

  • Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has great influence in the Gulf Region. Its large economy and population make it an attractive market for international investors.
