International law firm Pinsent Masons has boosted its restructuring practice in London with the appointment of three restructuring partners from LG. Steven Cottee, Nick Pike and Tom Withyman are expected to arrive in Spring 2012, and their arrival takes the number of partners who have recently joined the banking and restructuring team to six.*
All three partners have worked on some high-profile assignments across a range of sectors including Planet Hollywood, Southern Cross, and Erinaceous. Steven Cottee joined LG from Richards Butler in 2007, and has since acted for Hill Dickinson on its acquisition of the Liverpool and Sheffield offices of Halliwells LLP and acted on the administration of Hextalls. Nick Pike, who joined LG in 1999, is a highly experienced restructuring and insolvency lawyer with nearly 25 years' experience in the City, receiving conflict instructions from major firms; he was recently been involved in the high-profile Cattles restructuring. Tom Withyman has strong relationships with the big four banks and experience in the retail and leisure sectors, acting on the Adams Childrenswear and Bridge Business Recovery restructurings.
Commenting on their arrival, Jamie White, head of restructuring at Pinsent Masons said, ""I am delighted that Steven, Nick and Tom are joining us. Their arrival is a coup for the firm, strengthening our bank-led restructuring team in the City and giving us a great platform upon which to build over the coming years."
Nick Pike commented, "We are very much looking forward to joining Pinsent Masons. They have a strong bank focus which complements both our relationships in that area and our links with the wider restructuring and insolvency market."
* Other appointments this year included Michael Lewis from Norton Rose, Ian Roberts from SNR Denton and Vanessa Heap who arrived from BLP.
