Pinsent Masons advises Northgate Information Solutions on the sale of its Public Services Division to Cinven

International law firm Pinsent Masons has together with Simpson Thacker & Bartlett advised Northgate Information Solutions and its owner KKR on the sale of Northgate Public Services (NPS) to European private equity firm Cinven.

Hemel Hempstead based NPS is an integrated software, outsourcing and IT services business with in-depth experience in the public sector developed since 1969. Clients include government departments and agencies, local authorities, emergency services, public health bodies, transport providers and utilities as well as housing providers in the UK and internationally.

The company has 1,500 employees and most recently delivered its 12th consecutive year of growth. In FY14, NPS grew 7.2% in revenue and 6.9% in EBITDA at £181m and £42m respectively.

The Pinsent Masons team was led by Corporate Partner, Andrew Kerr, supported by Michelle Kershaw, Louise Blair and Jonathan Badrock (corporate), Jon Robinson (tax), Nina Choudhury (pensions), Russell Teale (property), Oliver Beaulah and Laura Seath (commercial) and Liz Deeley (employment).
