17 Jun 2015 | 08:29 am |

International law firm Pinsent Masons continues to expand its Munich office with the appointment of Marc Holtorf as Partner to its intellectual property practice.

A specialist in intellectual property law with 20 years of experience advising national and international companies within the life sciences, energy and retail sectors, Marc is a strong addition to the IP team and will advise a European client base. Marc joins Pinsent Masons from Clifford Chance, where he led the Munich IP practice for eight years.

Commenting on the appointment, Florian von Baum, Head of Munich IP/IT & Outsourcing says: "Marc's appointment demonstrates our commitment to further strengthening our pan-European offering at a time when current developments in patent law, such as the establishment of the Unified Patent Court, bring uncertainty for many clients. His specialist industry focus complements our broad range of existing skill sets and his breadth of knowledge and experience will be valued by our clients."

Marc's hire is reflective of the continued growth of Pinsent Masons' Munich office.

This is the firm's sixth partner hire in Germany since opening in 2012. The office now has 13 partners and more than 40 fee earners in total.

John Cleland, Managing Partner at Pinsent Masons comments: "The Munich office continues to go from strength to strength and I'm delighted to welcome Marc to the team. We remain committed to strategic investment within the firm and bolstering our international platform with talented individuals is a central element of that strategy."
