Isabel is head of pensions litigation at Pinsent Masons. A solicitor-advocate, she is widely recognised as a leading pensions litigator, including by the legal directories. Isabel's work includes employer funding disputes, bringing and defending negligence claims against professional advisors, scheme wind-ups, regulatory disputes involving the pensions regulator, the construction and rectification of scheme documentation and Pension Ombudsman complaints.
She has been involved in numerous pension cases including the Maxwell litigation, the National Power House of Lords case, BESTrustees v Stuart, Bradstock, KPMG v Aon, British Vita and Nortel.
Isabel's clients include independent trustees, employers, professional advisors, industry bodies and insurers.
She is the secretary of the pensions litigation committee of the association of pensions lawyers.
Isabel is a registered mediator and strongly favours alternative ways of resolving disputes. She regularly negotiates commercial settlements and aims to defuse disputes early on.
