Kate is a Partner and specialist in infrastructure projects having been active in the limited recourse finance market for more than 15 years. Kate acts for the whole range of project participants (funders, sponsors, contractors and procuring authorities) meaning she has a well-rounded understanding of the issues from each participant's perspective. Kate is independently recognised as a leading individual in for PPP and has personally led the Pinsent Masons team on more than 20 major projects to reach financial close.
Kate heads up the Pinsent Masons Housing PFI Team (we have advised on all 5 of the last schemes to reach financial close – the only law firm to have done so) and is also involved in all other forms of social infrastructure (education, health, waste to energy, secure accommodation, transport and regeneration). In addition Kate is particularly interested in the market for infrastructure in Egypt which is going through a great transition as a result of the Arab Spring. Pinsent Masons was mandated on two significant PPP Projects in Egypt just before the Revolution. Whilst these have stalled Kate maintains an active interest in that market and has built up a significant number of contacts in country.
The most recent Chambers and Partners Directory comments that Kate is "highly regarded for her work in PFI and clients comment on her skill at pulling a team together and ensuring a relatively seamless process, adding that "she fits will into a team, is well connected and knows what the other parties will be thinking and looking for"".
