Alastair Morrison

Head of Client Strategy

Alastair is a Board member of Pinsent Masons with overall responsibility for the firm's client and sector strategy.

In September 2019, Alastair was awarded joint winner of the Most Innovative Lawyer in Europe at the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Europe Awards. This was in recognition of "his capacity to galvanise colleagues to rethink their approach, embrace change and move faster than the competition".

Alastair's role is to advise the Board on the objectives, strategies and investments required to sustain the firm's relevance to clients and build long term sustainability, resilience and relevance in the global legal market.

He has been a member of the Board since 2004 and has taken a leading role in several major developments of the firm, including: conceiving the firm's relationship management programme; leading the strategic rationale for growth through mergers; and developing the strategy and playing a key role in the establishment of our Australia practice.

Alastair is the relationship partner for some of the firm's largest clients and has first-hand experience of the demands and issues General Counsel and their teams are responding to. His own client experiences and those of his colleagues have been central to the development of the firm's strategy and in the creation of a range of innovative legal delivery models.

He has spoken at a number of international conferences on the challenges being faced by clients and how these challenges are shaping the firm and the legal profession more widely.

Prior to his Board role, Alastair has been the principal construction law adviser on numerous major projects on-shore and off-shore nationally and internationally. He is recognised in the 2019 edition of Chambers & Partners as an Eminent Practitioner for Construction. Alastair has been ranked as a leading individual for construction law since 1997 by both Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 legal directories.
