Lena specialises in European and German competition law. She advises German and multinational companies, inter alia, from the automotive, chemicals, financial services, food and healthcare industry.
A particular emphasis of her practice is on complex M&A-transactions where she aids to obtain merger control clearances in multiple jurisdictions.
The defence in allegations of antitrust violations is a second focus of her work. She comprehensively advises and guides clients through on-site dawn raids, (internal) investigations, leniency applications and settlement negotiations with the European Commission and the German Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt).
Her area of expertise also includes self-cleaning measures to avoid exclusion from public procurement procedures and to achieve the deletion from corruption registers. She is currently completing her doctoral thesis in this field.
In addition, she advises on questions related to developing, implementing and reviewing competition compliance programmes.
Prior to joining Pinsent Masons, Lena worked as a law clerk in competition law and litigation for other leading international law firms in Brussels, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt and the German Embassy in Beijing.
