The UK Home Office has indicated in an outreach that it intends to publish a list of companies that have failed to report under the Modern Slavery Act 2015. They have indicated that it will commence an audit regarding “non-compliant” companies on 31 March 2019.
This recent outreach, alongside initiatives from organisations like the Modern Slavery Registry, have made companies take stock on whether they are compliant and the steps they take to combat modern slavery. This joint webinar by Pinsent Masons and the Modern Slavery Registry considers best practice, transparency obligations in the UK, Australia and elsewhere, and upcoming initiatives such as those of the Home Office.
