There are several groups and networking bodies serving the IP profession, but before 2009 there wasn’t a group dedicated to IP practitioners at a more junior level, with both educational and social development objectives.
Spotting this need, two Pinsent Masons IP associates co-founded IPSoc - the society dedicated to bringing together junior practitioners from all areas of intellectual property to learn and network in a more informal environment.
With a committee formed of members from legal firms, Chambers and patent/trade mark attorney firms, the society now holds around 300 members each year from these professions (up to a certain level of qualification). The society holds four educational events (CPD accredited) and four social events per year respectively, and attracts speakers from the very top of the profession.
Pinsent Masons is a key sponsor of IPSoc, and highlights our commitment to the IP industry at all levels of the profession. Further information on IPSoc is available at: www.ipsoc.org
