Our recent experience includes:

  • Advising Ipsus Developments on the funding, acquisition and disposal in respect of the construction of 170 residential units and commercial space in Grafton Square, Clapham with an end-use value in excess of £50million
  • Acted for a consortium of developers (CALA Management and Persimmon) in the Development Agreement, Planning and acquisition of the Bellsdyke Hospital and Hill of Kinnaird, Larbert site, comprising 1,700 residential units and associated business/ employment uses
  • Advising Glasgow Housing Association GHA on the financial aspects of the Second Stage Transfer (SST) programme including negotiation of amended or restated grant arrangements.
  • We advised Newcastle City Council on the Scotswood regeneration project which covers a substantial area of the west end of Newcastle upon Tyne. The project involves the creation of a delivery vehicle in joint venture with its private sector partner, a consortium comprising Barratt, Keepmoat and Yuill, to deliver the holistic and sustainable regeneration of this run-down area of the city and promote development further afield.
  • Earls Court We are instructed by Capco on the planning and structuring element of this immensely high profile scheme at Earls Court, one of the largest development projects in London. The scheme is for 75,700sqm of residential use and 21,000sqm of other uses - over 10 million sq ft of development. The scheme is being developed by Capco with TfL and London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham.
  • We advised the Homes and Communities Agency in respect of the UK's largest sustainable new town project, Northstowe in Cambridgeshire on a brownfield former military base. The new town will include up to 9,500 new homes, employment areas, a town centre, four local centres, a secondary school and around five primary schools. Northstowe will be a new place to live for over 20,000 people, and approximately 8,000 jobs will be created encouraging further economic development. The scheme has involved the compulsory purchase of the line for the Guided Busway system which runs through the new settlement.
  • We advised the Homes and Communities Agency on the First time Buyer's Initiative.  We also advised the HCA on the KickStart project to invest £400m in stalled development sites.
  • We advised MMC Estates, acting as executive developer of an urban extension to Lydney, Gloucestershire, including complex development arrangements with a house builder, contractor, registered provider, senior debt provider and HCA.
  • We are advising Peterborough City Council on all legal aspects of its Medium Term Financial Strategy, including its requirement to deliver housing growth of some 25,000 new homes by 2020.
