We help our clients to deliver landmark projects.
Kings Cross Central is one of Central London's most significant new developments, comprising 67 acres of brown field site. This flagship development is one of the first in the UK to secure significantly reduced carbon emissions through its planning agreement.
The mixed use project will include 2,500 new homes, including student accommodation, with the University of the Arts London occupying one of the first buildings to be completed. We advised Inexus on the contractual arrangements for its role as the utility provider for the development ESCO (Energy Service Company). Inexus is responsible for providing electricity, water, wastewater, fibre, gas and district heating networks on the development. They are also responsible for managing the ESCO vehicle. Our role included providing advice on structuring the project, contract development and contract negotiation.
Inexus is at the forefront of developing energy-efficient, multi-utility schemes that both meet the demand of developers to underscore their environmental credentials, but also provide significant efficiencies of scale compared to single utility providers. The landmark Kings Cross ESCO is a significant step in the development the ESCO vehicle.
