Speedy Hire advised by Pinsent Masons on the acquisition of AMEC Logistics and Support Services Limited

International law firm Pinsent Masons has advised Speedy Hire, the number one provider of equipment hire services in the UK, on the acquisition of the tool and equipment hire business of AMEC Logistics and Support Services Limited ('LSS').

LSS is AMEC's single point of supply for the provision of hire assets including tools, lifting equipment, general plant, temporary accommodation units and survey equipment. LSS operates from 10 UK depots and employs approximately 250 full time employees.

The purchase price will be £12.5 million with completion expected to take place on 1 February 2008.

Speedy Hire will continue to supply AMEC's industrial division under a four year supply agreement and also other UK AMEC divisions with hire equipment following completion.
