David Isaac named as leading LGBT+ executive for fourth year running

Pinsent Masons' Advanced Manufacturing and Technology sector head and Diversity Steering Group Chair David Isaac has been recognised as a role model on the 2017 OUTstanding Leading LGBT+ Executives List, presented by the FT.

The list celebrates prominent professionals who are influencing LGBT+ inclusion inside and outside the workplace, who are actively working to create an environment where LGBT+ people can comfortably bring their best selves to work.

David ranked 27th out of 100 LGBT+ Executive role models in 2017. He has been in the list since it was launched. He appears in the list alongside notable names including Inga Beale, CEO of Lloyd's of London and Stacey Friedman, general counsel at JPMorgan Chase.

David said:
“It's an honour to be included on this important list again this year. At Pinsent Masons we strive to create an inclusive workplace where everyone can be themselves. As a firm we are proud to be recognised by leading D&I organisations, including Stonewall and the Social Mobility Foundation, for the work that we do to deliver positive change for our people, as well as for the next generation."

As Chair of Pinsent Masons' Diversity Steering Group and Chair of the UK's Equality and Human Rights Commission, David has had a demonstrable impact on both the firm and on diversity and inclusion more generally in the UK. He was awarded a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List in 2011 for his services to equality and diversity. David was Chair of Stonewall from 2003-2012 and was on the board of the Human Dignity Trust from 2014 to 2016.

Suki Sandhu, founder and CEO at OUTstanding, added:
"These lists exist to challenge the assumption you cannot be out and successful in business, and to highlight the importance of role models in inspiring the next generation of business leaders. By recognising and celebrating those who are leading the charge, the lists demonstrate how far the quest for workplace equality has come. But there is always more to be done. Business and the public sector have the power and influence to promote LGBT+ inclusion more widely, paving the way for real societal change around the world."
