About Claire

Claire is is a specialist environmental lawyer with over 10 years' experience in advising in respect of both non-contentious and contentious environmental and energy matters.  She regularly advises on environmental issues across a broad range of corporate and real estate transactions, projects and finance-related matters. She has experience in areas such as contaminated land and brownfield development, environmental permitting, chemicals regulation, site decommissioning, waste management and regulatory energy advice including energy licensing and Electricity Market Reform. She regularly advises on environmental risk strategies and the management of legacy liabilities as well representing companies (and company officers) in regulatory investigations including crisis management, interviews and court proceedings, and pursuing appeals in respect of Environmental Permits and regulators' decisions.

The 2015 edition of Chambers and Partners describes Claire as having cultivated a strong reputation in the environment sector, with particular expertise in areas including contaminated land, large developments and energy schemes. She is routinely called upon by clients across the marine, chemical and energy industries for regulatory advice, in addition to permitting and compliance issues.
