Nicola is a Senior Practice Development Lawyer in the property group. She is part of a team of practice development lawyers responsible for keeping our real estate lawyers up to date with changes in law and practice across the sector. Nicola’s role includes developing the group’s precedent documents and knowhow, training programmes and working practices to ensure that we provide a technically excellent, efficient and effective service to our clients. This includes working closely with our legal engineering team to create innovative methods of delivering legal work for our clients.
Prior to taking on this role, Nicola was a partner in our Property Dispute Resolution team and advised institutional investors, retailers, developers, banks, local authorities and universities on a broad range of portfolio management issues and development disputes. In particular, Nicola was highly regarded for advising on housing and mixed-use regeneration schemes including vacant possession and re-housing strategies, variations to borough-wide housing management policies, consultation requirements, negotiating the protocols under which development partners deal with challenges and the legal structuring of schemes including service charge arrangements and structures that avoid triggering, or minimise the impact of, residential tenant's rights such as enfranchisement and rights of first refusal.
Nicola is a member of the Property Litigation Association and an Associate Member of the BPF’s Residential Management Committee.
