About Guy

Guy is part of the firm’s cross-disciplinary Brexit team, advising clients on the implications of Brexit for their businesses and how best to respond to the challenges and opportunities which Brexit raises.

Guy is also a Partner in the Competition, EU & Trade team, in which capacity he has worked on competition and market investigations by the European Commission and the UK’s competition authorities, including attending dawn raids. In this context he has advised clients on fining and leniency procedures and making leniency applications. 

Guy has handled Phase 1 and in-depth merger clearances before the European Commission and before the UK’s competition authorities, including the Competition and Markets Authority. He has undertaken competition law audits and has also designed and implemented competition compliance and training programmes for many clients. 

He also regularly advises on appeals against decisions of EU and UK competition authorities, such as on appeals against competition infringement and merger/market decisions, including before the UK’s Competition Appeal Tribunal.

Guy has particular experience of advising clients in the utilities, energy and manufacturing sectors, and especially in the food, automotive, pharmaceutical, chemical and oil/gas industries.

Guy has also been included in the 2018 edition of Who’s Who Legal: Competition, a guide to the world’s leading competition lawyers.
