About Michael

Michael is a construction lawyer with a particular focus on providing advisory and dispute resolution services to clients in the construction industry.

Michael has experience in managing heavy weight contentious matters in the building, engineering and oil and gas sectors within the UK, Hong Kong and Australia. He has acted in several leading cases in the English Court of Appeal and the House of Lords. Michael is experienced in security of payment claims, adjudications and the enforcement of, or challenges to adjudication decisions, and multi-party arbitration proceedings, adjudication, mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.  Throughout his career, Michael has acted for and against participants from all levels in the construction and engineering process, including governments and government agencies, water companies, principals, main contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers and professional consultants.

Michael is a skilled lecturer and is currently retained by a number of commercial contractors and industry organisations to deliver comprehensive in-house construction law training programs.
