About Rob

Rob helped to establish Pinsent Masons’ Hong Kong practice. He has international experience in handling computer, telecoms and technology based disputes, involving litigation and arbitration, ranging from hardware and software procurement issues to project management, IT product liability and outsourcing.

Rob has been involved in substantial technology cases since the 90s including cases relating to fitness for purpose as an implied term in respect of software as a service or goods.

Rob advises IT service providers and government bodies on dispute avoidance and resolution often involving mediation or renegotiation.  He has extensive experience of high value IT litigation and arbitration addressing complex technical and commercial issues.  Since 2008, Rob has been the lead partner on a multi-million pound dispute leading a Pinsent Masons team of up to 32 people working with the client, counsel and expert teams.

Rob lectures widely on IT project management and dispute resolution, both externally and as part of clients’ internal training programmes.

“Rob McCallough is a “highly esteemed” and “very hard-working” litigator specialising in IT, communications and outsourcing disputes of staggering scale and complexity.” Chambers 2014
