Shane is a specialist in construction law including litigation and alternative dispute resolution activities. He has worked on significant projects, both locally and internationally, providing on-going legal advice, contract implementation assistance, dispute avoidance and participation in the contractually stipulated dispute resolution procedures. In addition, he has also been appointed as an expert to provide a confidential expert determination in regard to damages claims in the built environment.
Shane has also advised on front-end negotiation and drafting of contractual terms and conditions (both standard form and special purpose), and has extensive experience in the use of FIDIC, JBCC and other standard forms.
Shane lectures both construction professionals and students, and is a lecturer on the Masters Curriculum at the University of the Witwatersrand’s School of Construction Management and Economics.
