Formerly an advanced associate lawyer at the Financial Conduct Authority (previously the Financial Services Authority), Michael specialises in financial services litigation including criminal and regulatory investigations. He provides advice to firms and senior individuals regarding potential mis-selling of financial products and systems, illegal trades, fraud and general breaches of regulatory requirements. Michael also provides advice on mitigating the risks to corporates through the creation and implementation of effective compliance programmes.
Prior to joining Pinsent Masons Michael spent almost six years at the FCA, working on numerous financial services regulatory projects, investigations and proceedings across a broad range of financial institutions including asset and fund managers, insurance businesses and banks. Michael also has significant experience of working with other UK and overseas regulators and prosecuting agencies, including their use of intelligence and information sharing powers.
