About Robert

Robert is a Senior Associate with over 15 years' experience of advising on EU and UK competition law matters in various industries, including financial services, life sciences, transport, energy and building materials sectors.  He previously worked as a Senior Case Officer at the Swedish Competition Authority, where he took part in a number of dawn raids and investigations, including abuse of dominance cases.  In late 2014, he worked for the Financial Conduct Authority’s Competition Division on a secondment, working e.g. on the FCA Handbook amendments in relation to Principle 11.

Experience

His experience includes advising:

  • on the multi-jurisdictional cartel investigation into LIBOR manipulation by inter alia the European Commission and other authorities;
  • a trade association in relation to a European Commission investigation, including advising the client during the dawn raid; and offering commitments accepted by the European Commission;
  • on merger control matters, including notifications to the European Commission, the OFT/CMA in the UK and a number of multi-jurisdictional filings;
  • in relation to the Competition Commission's market investigation into Aggregates; the CMA’s market investigation into Retail Banking; and the FCA’s market study into Credit Cards.
