Event

Pinsent Masons / AFSA Arbitration in Africa

In a series of talks and panel discussions, you will have the chance to engage with experts from Pinsent Masons, AFSA (Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa) and other leading institutions focusing on the continent, who will be covering topics ranging from the Africanisation of international arbitration, the pitfalls of arbitrating disputes in Africa, and the impact of China's Belt & Road Initiative on energy and infrastructure disputes on the continent.

Members of AFSA will also be on hand to highlight the work being done by the foundation to promote arbitration in Africa, as well as previewing the agenda for the Johannesburg Arbitration Week, taking place in March 2020.

The event will consist of panel sessions and presentations, with moderator-led discussion around the topics, during which time audience participation is encouraged. Following the seminar, attendees are warmly invited to stay for lunch.
