Pinsent Masons Lecture 2019: 'Implied terms in International Construction Contracts'

Our annual public lecture delivered by John Bishop, known in the infrastructure sector as “One of the world’s pre-eminent construction experts.”

John has a lifetime experience of construction and engineering contracts. As well as preparing and advising on contract documents and procurement strategies, John has acted as Arbitrator, Advocate and Solicitor in a vast number of arbitrations, court cases and other dispute forums during a fifty year career.

The arbitrations have been under a variety of domestic and international arbitration rules including ICC, LCIA, SCC, CIETAC, HKIAC, SIAC, AIAA, AFSA, ADCCAC, DIFC-LCIA, DIAC and UNCITRAL. John is now a full time Arbitrator, Mediator and Dispute Board Member and a member of Arbitration Chambers, Hong Kong and London. John has sat as chair, sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator and appeal arbitrator. During his career, John has gained a wide international experience having been based in London, Hong Kong, Beijing and Dubai and involved with projects across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the UAE, China, Asia and Australia.
