International law firm Pinsent Masons is delighted to announce the launch of a new charity partnership with Free The Children.
Free The Children is an international charity that empowers communities to lift themselves out of poverty using a holistic, sustainable five-pillar development model. Founded by brothers Craig and Marc Kielburger, the charity has its origins 20 years ago when a then 12 year old Craig was inspired to organise his classmates to make a stand against child labour. Continuing this theme, Free The Children now also does a lot of work with schools to inspire children to take action on a cause that they are passionate about.
To launch the partnership Pinsent Masons is planning to make a £30,000 donation in support of one of Free The Children's projects and will be asking employees of the firm to decide which initiative to support.
Kate Fergusson, Head of Responsible Business at Pinsent Masons, says:
“The focus of our community investment programme is ‘inspiring young lives’ and Free the Children embodies that ethos perfectly with domestic and global programmes which empower young people to make a difference and eliminate obstacles to education. We are incredibly excited to be able to support the charity’s global ‘Adopt a Village’ programme and want to engage as many of our people as possible in fundraising, volunteering and helping Free the Children to create better life chances for children around the world”.
Kate Likely, Director at Free The Children, says:
“At Free The Children, we see every single day how all positive actions have an impact, whether large or small. We are thrilled to be partnering with Pinsent Masons, whose ‘inspiring young lives’ philosophy aligns perfectly with the way we work. Pinsent Masons’ passion for community at home and overseas is inspiring, and we’re so excited to work with their people to make the world a better place, together.”
