Partner, Head of Energy
Paul is the global Sector Head for Energy and sits on the main Operations Committee for the firm as well as our Asia Pacific Operations Committee.
With over 20 years experience as an energy and environmental law practitioner Paul leads our hugely experienced Energy Sector teams across our network of European, Middle Eastern, African and Asia Pacific offices. He is responsible for driving our strategy, brand and growth across four key subsectors; Renewables and Cleantech, Conventional Power (incl EfW, networks and Interconnectors), Nuclear Power as well as Oil and Gas.
He has experience across several energy generation new build projects including CCGT, Nuclear, Biomass and CHP plants as well as Energy from Waste facilities. Recent matters include advising in relation nuclear new build projects in the UK, nuclear decommissioning and the UK's Geological Disposal Facility, energy from waste projects/investments in the UK and China and Environmental Impact Assessment advice on a European Interconnector development.
As well as work on a range of power projects he has previously led on bids to acquire British Energy plc, a global nuclear fuel processing business and the purchase of various sites for new nuclear development in the UK and strategies for market entry in the UK, China and South Africa. Principal client relationships include EDF Energy, NuGeneration, Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Radioactive Waste Management, Vivo Energy and Plasco Energy.
Partner, Head of Competition, EU & Trade
Alan heads the Competition, EU & Trade Group at Pinsent Masons. He is qualified as a solicitor in England and Ireland, and practised in Brussels for six years including a year with the European Commission.
John is Managing Partner of Pinsent Masons, and has overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and operations of the firm globally.
Joanne is head of the Health sector but sits within the Corporate Group, specialising principally in private company and private equity work including acquisitions and disposals, buy-in and buy-outs, joint ventures and investments.
