Richard is the global Senior Partner of Pinsent Masons and Chairs the firm's Board.
Richard has ultimate responsibility for the leadership of the firm. He is responsible for ensuring delivery of our strategy as we transition to become a purpose-led, professional services business with law at its core.
Sustaining our multi-national sectoral brand and embedding our purpose, culture and values sit at the heart of Richard’s role. He spends much of his time hearing from clients and intermediaries about how the firm can best respond to their needs and generally how business can be made to work better for people.
Prior to becoming Senior Partner, Richard advised on some of the largest rail, road, airport and port projects in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. He also held several senior leadership roles at the firm including leading our Construction Advisory & Disputes practice, our Projects & Construction practice, our Energy sector and our Asia practice.
Since he became Senior Partner Pinsent Masons has been named Law Firm of the Year by Legal Week (2016), Legal Business (2016, 2019), The Lawyer (2018) and is regularly counted amongst and has twice (2015 and 2020) been named the most innovative law firm in Europe by the Financial Times. Carolyn has been a specialist pensions lawyer for almost 30 years, during which time she has supported corporates, scheme trustees and pension providers through seismic changes in the pensions industry.

Chris has overall responsibility for risk management and compliance within the firm.

Ian is responsible for ensuring that sound financial management and processes are in place, and that service delivery is fully aligned with the firm’s strategy.
