He acts for a wide range of private and public sector clients, including corporate investors and occupiers, developers, retailers, education institutions and administrators and receivers.He advises on issues such as interim and terminal dilapidations, lease renewals, non-payment of rent and service charge, liability of former tenants and guarantors, general nuisance matters, squatters, boundary disputes and alienation. He has a wide experience in insolvency related matters including the recovery of rent and service charge arrears and advising on recovering possession of commercial and residential properties.Stuart has particular expertise in advising upon the application of non-domestic business rates, including conducting rating appeals in the Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber). Stuart also advises on agricultural law. He advises regularly on the termination of agricultural tenancies where land is being bought and sold by residential and commercial developers, as well as advising upon compensation and succession issues.
