Pinsent Masons MPillay advises SUSI Partners on investment in Alba Renewables

11 Apr 2024 | 11:26 pm |

Law firm Pinsent Masons MPillay has advised Swiss-based infrastructure investment manager SUSI Partners on its investment in Alba Renewables to build a renewable energy infrastructure business focused on The Philippines.

SUSI Partners is investing in Alba Renewables and in its joint venture with Philippines-headquartered company Tech Energie Reserves to build renewable energy projects in The Philippines, starting with the 65MW Solar Valley phase 1 project in the northern province of Isabela. Alba Renewables is based in Singapore and develops, builds and operates renewable energy projects across the Asia Pacific region.

The Pinsent Masons MPillay cross-practice team on the matter was led by corporate partner William Stroll, and included corporate senior associate Steven McKinley and associate Bryan Chapman, alongside banking and finance partner Martin Bishop, associate Qiu Yonghui and legal executive Darrell Pang.

Commenting on the matter, William Stroll said: “We are pleased to once again advise SUSI Partners on a significant investment in the development of renewable energy projects in the Asia Pacific region. There continues to be enormous demand for the financing of the transition to renewable energy in Southeast Asia and platforms and projects such as these bring together the expertise and the funding to meet that demand.”

Pinsent Masons MPillay advised SUSI Partners and its Asia Energy Transition Fund on the launch last year of a renewable energy platform to develop large-scale renewable energy assets across Southeast Asia.
