Webinar
This session will explore what challenges and opportunities ESG requirements will create in the wider East African region.
Financiers and institutional investors in the East African market are increasingly evaluating compliance with ESG requirements before making investments. Finance is seen as a key instrument in motivating governments, businesses and their supply chains to deliver on the net zero agenda. COP26 is likely to place even more aggressive targets on nations, particularly developed nations. Emerging markets may appear to be lagging behind, however looking at recent measures as well as instruments introduced into the financial and capital markets, there is indeed impetus in the East African region to meet these goals.
This session co-hosted by Pinsent Masons and local Ugandan law firm Engoru Mutebi, will ask a panel of ESG experts based regionally in East Africa what they see as the challenges and opportunities the net zero agenda may generate regionally in the short to medium and longer term.
The webinar will be of interest to representatives who have an interest in investment or project developments in the wider East African region.
