Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has appointed Amaia Rivas Kortazar to lead its Public Law practice in its Madrid office.
Amaia will lead the Public Law department in the firm’s Madrid office proving regulatory support to the firm’s multinational clients predominantly operating in the energy and financial services sectors as well as collaborating with the firm’s global investment arbitraton specialists.
Joining from the Fund for Orderly Bank Restructuring in Spain (FROB), where she was the General Counsel, Amaia’s expertise incorporates a broad range of disciplines such as investor state arbitrations including Energy Charter Treaty disputes and advocacy.
Madrid office co-head of Pinsent Masons in Spain, Fernando Gutiérrez said: “We are delighted to welcome Amaia to the team. Prior to joining FROB she worked at the State Attorney's Office in Cordoba, the legal service of the Spanish Tax Authority, the International Arbitration team of the Kingdom of Spain, and in the State Attorney's Office before the National High Court.
