Pinsent Masons named Top Global Employer in Stonewall’s Global Workplace Equality Index

Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has, once again, been named as a top global employer by leading LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall in its Global Workplace Equality Index (WEI) 2022.

Achieving Silver Status as part of the Index in recognition of its longstanding commitment to LGBT+ diversity and inclusion (D&I), the firm, for the sixth consecutive year, has been highlighted as one of the most inclusive LGBT employers.

Stonewall’s Top Global Employers list recognises organisations for their efforts and commitment to creating welcoming environments for their lesbian, gay, bi and trans staff. Organisations are scored against a set of standardised criteria, which includes ensuring global HR policies are inclusive of LGBTQ+ people everywhere they work, as well as supporting safe travel for staff across the world.

Senior Partner at Pinsent Masons, Richard Foley, said:

“We’re proud of the progress we’ve made in advancing equality across our multinational network. As a purpose-led professional services business we believe we are obligated to promote inclusion, not only at Pinsent Masons, but more broadly in society. Whilst recognising this is an area that is not without its complexities, we remain committed to diversity and inclusion and maintaining a workplace in which everyone can bring their whole selves to work.”

During the last year the firm has progressed its support for its LGBT+ people by providing specific guidance and support for trans people transitioning at work and refreshed its D&I training for our people across its multinational business.

Director of Global at Stonewall, Leanne MacMillan (she/her), said: “We’re delighted for Pinsent Masons whose incredible work towards LGBT inclusion this year has seen them receive Silver Status in the Global Workplace Equality Index. Every employer has a duty to make sure that their LGBT staff are free from discrimination at work, and our Global Workplace Equality Index helps organisations reflect on their inclusion journey and celebrate best practice.

“We spend much of our time at work, and our career can be a huge part of how we define ourselves. That’s why it’s vital that every single lesbian, gay, bi and trans person feels like they can be themselves in their workplace.”
