Advising a FTSE 100 company on a sponsor-driven de-risking strategy for a £1bn+ scheme. This culminated in a successful buy-in of all of its pension liabilities using a framework agreement and the sale of the scheme’s illiquid assets so that the scheme could take advantage of a favourable pricing opportunity.
Advising Just on the £42m buy-in of the Scottish Milk Limited Retirement Benefits Plan. The buy-in, which secured retirement benefits for all 452 members of the scheme, included a deferred premium element to enable the transaction to take place.
Advising the trustees of a £1 billion household name pension scheme on the £228 million partial buy-in of its liabilities with Just Retirement Limited under a framework agreement.

Advising trustees on two complex winding-up projects for £300m pension schemes. One involved obtaining regulatory approval for a refund of surplus to the employer. We guided the trustees through to liability discharge in circumstances of residual risks and member complaints, securing appropriate trustee protection through insurance and sponsor indemnities
