Emily specialises in intellectual property disputes and advice, with a particular focus on brand enforcement and the creative rights. She has advised clients on their rights in relation to trade marks, advertising compliance, databases, misuse of confidential information, copyright, designs and patents.
Emily works with clients to produce tailor-made commercial solutions for their brand enforcement needs, whether in respect of a one-off issue or as part of an extensive enforcement programme. Emily draws on her experience of advising across the breadth of IP rights, often in a multi-jurisdictional setting, to provide strategic practical advice to clients, testing the boundaries of the law where appropriate.
Where litigation becomes necessary, Emily manages the conduct of cases with the client's commercial objectives in mind. She has experience litigating cases in the High Court, Court of Appeal and in the Intellectual Property and Enterprise Court (IPEC) and has been involved in a number of high profile claims.
Emily works for a variety of clients but with a particular focus on the retail and consumer goods, life sciences and financial services sectors and also has particular expertise in matters relating to parallel imports.
