Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has appointed partner Harjeet Lall to join its finance and restructuring team in London.

Harjeet’s practice focuses on structured finance and securitisation. She advises financial institutions including investment banks, asset managers as well as corporates on a wide range of private and public structured finance, securitisation and asset-backed securitisation transactions.

Head of Pinsent Masons’ Structured Finance, Edward Sunderland, said: “Harjeet comes with a longstanding practice and technical expertise alongside exceptional business development and commercial skills. Boosting our team with securitisation expertise will elevate our offering to clients in the financial services sector - particularly those specialising in complex structured finance. Her practice will add strength and depth to our financial services capabilities, enhancing how we can collaborate with our client base.”

Harjeet supports clients across all asset classes, including multi-jurisdictional trade receivables, loans, auto loans, auto leases, dealer floor plans, residential mortgages, as well as CRE loan on loan transactions, CMBS and repack transactions.

She joins from Mayer Brown where she was a securitisation lawyer and co-chair of the India practice. She previously worked at Indian and US law firms in London and in-house with a major US investment bank.

Commenting on her appointment, Harjeet added: “Pinsent Masons has an outstanding reputation in the financial services market and it’s an honour for me to join Edward Sunderland’s team of forward-thinking, talented individuals. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience and skills to the table.”

Harjeet is the sixth partner joining Pinsent Masons’ financial services team since the beginning of the year, following the appointments of Benoît Rose and Jan Saalfrank in Luxembourg, Andy Wright and Tom McHugh in Leeds, and Lisa Carty in Dublin.

In the course of her career, Harjeet has advised on many high-profile transactions, including:

  • Advising a major investment bank as lender in relation to up to €650,000,000 variable funding notes by way of warehouse financing for the purchase of auto hire loans originated by a Finnish auto loan originator.
  • Advising a UK investment bank and a conduit funder on £300,000,000 note funding in the securitisation of a pool of dealer floor plan receivables originated in the UK.
