Pinsent Masons advises on Victorian government-owned wind farm project

Vestas will provide the 33 wind turbines for the project, which will be Victoria’s first 100% publicly owned, utility-scale wind generation project after the Victorian Government’s State Electricity Commission (SEC) purchased the project last month. The project is also the first wind farm to reach financial close in Victoria in the last year.

Construction of the Delburn Wind Farm will begin early this year. When completed, then project will generate up to 205-megawatts of renewable energy, enough to power more than 130,000 homes.

Pinsent Masons advised Vestas on the construction, operations and downstream arrangements for the project.

The Pinsent Masons team on the matter was led by Melbourne-based projects partner James Morgan-Payler, with senior associates Max Dowzer-Strode, Maritza Sibanda and Lorraine Ng, associates Ella Clarke and Jay Ong, and graduate lawyer Yurii Tarasenko.
