Pinsent Masons hires Dan Naylor as new pensions partner in London

02 Sep 2025 | 09:25 am |

Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has appointed pensions partner Dan Naylor to join the firm’s finance and projects team in its London office.

Dan led the risk transfer offering at Travers Smith until August 2024 and has over 20 years’ experience advising all stakeholders in relation to pension schemes.

Dan’s practice focuses on pensions risk transfer alongside trustee and corporate advisory work. He has advised trustees, employers and insurers on some of the UK’s largest pensions risk transfer transactions, as well as on complex pension scheme restructurings and long-term security arrangements.

Head of Pinsent Masons’ Pensions & Long-Term Savings, Stephen Scholefield, said: “With his experience and unique expertise in risk transfer matters, Dan will be a key asset to our team, and will enhance our services proposition to advise on large and complex mandates for insurers.”

Dan’s appointment follows recent partner hire in the pensions team, with Anna Taylor in London, Ian Mylrea in Manchester, Charlotte Scholes in London, Amie Bain in Glasgow and Andy Wright in Leeds joining the firm since 2023.

Commenting on his appointment, Dan added: “It’s an exciting time to join Pinsent Masons’ growing pensions team and to be part of a firm that complements my practice so well. I’m looking forward to building on the support we offer in the pensions space.”
