Gemma has deep expertise in online content regulation and emerging digital regulatory frameworks, with a particular focus on advising clients on the UK's Online Safety Act. She acted in the first judicial review challenge to the Online Safety Act in the UK.
She also advises on content removal and takedown disputes, including claims arising from defamation, as well as broader complex technology disputes and judicial review proceedings. Gemma completed a secondment at Google, where she advised on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters in the UK.
In addition, Gemma advises clients responding to domestic and cross-border cyber incidents, including ransomware attacks.
