  • Client confidential

Successfully prevented repeated strike actions at a logistics company site by filing an application with the Fair Work Commission to stop unprotected industrial action. The application argued that the industrial action would threaten community health and safety by disrupting logistics services.

  • Client confidential

Successfully obtained urgent, interlocutory injunction from Federal Court against the union on behalf of a global manufacturer & supplier of diversified products, preventing the continuation of unprotected industrial action and other unlawful conduct at our client’s work sites.

  • Client confidential

Acting for a diversified industrial corporation in litigation in the Australian Federal Circuit and Family Court against the United Workers Union in a dispute regarding the characterisation of certain workers as shiftworkers and underpayment claims.

  • Client confidential

Advised a major contractor on over 300 holiday pay claims. Worked with the client to avoid becoming a test case in this area and agree an affordable and workable solution both in respect of back-pay and future calculation of holiday pay. Despite this claim being one of the first multiple holiday pay claims issued it did not result in adverse PR for our client.

  • SIG

Acted for SIG in the Court of Appeal in 2018 when a Middle East-based employee argued that he has jurisdiction to make employment claims in the UK. This has been joined with British Council v Jeffrey and is likely to become an important authority on this area.

  • Circle Internet Financial Limited

Providing advice to Circle Internet Financial Limited on development of its Irish workforce and relevant contract terms and policies.

  • Balfour Beatty

Advised Balfour Beatty Group on a dispute with Unite over changes in the historic collective bargaining machinery and defending it in the face of threatened strike action.

  • Client confidential

Advised a well known manufacturer about an ex-employee joining a competitor with details of a significant new product launch in which the client had invested heavily. Swiftly secured deeds of undertakings from both the ex-employee and competitor confirming this information would not be used and allowing for the launch of the new product later that year without undue competition from the competitor.

  • Tata Communications (UK) Limited

2017-ongoing - Advised Tata Communications (UK) Limited on its pan-European change management and restructuring. Included work on redundancies in the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland and Russia through our own employment teams in the UK, France and Germany and with our best friend firms.

  • Worley Parsons Group

Advised Worley Parsons Group on a UK wide collective unilateral substantial change of employment terms and conditions, reduction of salary and reduction to pension entitlement.
