15 May 2026 | 09:10 am |
The firm acted for Buccleuch on the option agreements and the long‑term lease of the site on which the Center Parcs village will be developed and operated. Once complete, the resort is expected to deliver significant economic and employment benefits to the region, supporting tourism and long‑term growth across the south of Scotland.
The Pinsent Masons team was led by Ewan Alexander, Russell Munro, Katharine Hardie and Slavina Pangevafrom the real estate team. The firm also provided specialist planning advice through its Planning team, with Gary McGovern and Winston Roberts advising on consenting matters.
The Center Parcs development follows extensive engagement with local stakeholders and public bodies and has been widely recognised as a major investment for the region. The project aligns with wider economic development objectives supported by South of Scotland Enterprise and the Scottish Borders Council. Planning Permission has been granted and construction will commence following the satisfaction of pre‑commencement planning conditions.
Russell Munro, Partner at Pinsent Masons, said: “This is a landmark project for the Scottish Borders, and we are delighted to have advised Buccleuch on the legal framework that will enable Center Parcs to deliver long‑term economic and social benefits for the region. The scale and complexity of the transaction required close collaboration and it has been a privilege to work alongside our client and their wider advisor team.”
Pinsent Masons has a long‑standing track record of advising landowners, developers and operators on complex, large‑scale leisure, tourism and mixed‑use developments across the UK, bringing together market‑leading real estate, planning and infrastructure expertise.
