Pinsent Masons advises on acquisition of Alba Renewables

27 Nov 2025 | 09:45 pm |

Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has advised Southeast Asia-based clean energy developer Alba Renewables on its acquisition by a leading global investment firm.

The acquisition will see the investment firm take a controlling stake in Alba Renewables and add the company’s 1.8GW portfolio of solar, wind and battery assets in the Philippines and Thailand to its more than US$1 trillion in assets across the world.

The Pinsent Masons team advising on the matter has been led by Singapore-based partner William Stroll with senior associate Bryan Chapman and trainee Geeta Vasnani.

Commenting on the matter, William said: ‘We are very pleased to support Alba Renewables on this significant investment in its business. Alba Renewables has a clear vision of investing in renewable energy projects across Southeast Asia and this investment will significantly upscale the company’s ability to do so.’

‘This is a significant investment into the growing renewable energy market in the region that will open up another source of private sector funds to drive net zero energy projects.’
