International law firm Pinsent Masons announces the appointment of Alexander Bayer, Peter Koch and Jörg Khöber as it continues to bolster its fast-expanding Munich office.

Together with the recent office opening in Dusseldorf, the latest hires mark an important step in the expansion of the firms' capability in Germany, and strengthens its expertise in the Technology, Life Sciences and Energy sectors.

Alexander Bayer joins as partner from Gowlings WLG where, alongside Peter Koch, he grew the patent and trademark litigations practice. With a specialism in fintech, his practice covered legal advice for innovative products and services, data protection, soft IP and unfair competition.

Peter Koch joins as legal director from Gowling WLG and also specialises in patent litigation. His experience includes cross border patent litigation, predominantly within the telecoms and medical devices sectors.

Jörg Khöber also joins as Senior Associate from Gowling WLG.

Rainer Kreifels, partner and head of Pinsent Masons in Germany, says:

"In less than four years the Munich office has grown into an operation of over 50 lawyers with an extremely strong offering in the technology, life sciences and energy sectors. Our depth of sector expertise has been a major driver of our success and bringing Alexander, Peter and Jörg onto the team continues to strengthen our presence in the market. Our firm has a clear strategy to become an international market leader in our global sectors, and I look forward to welcoming the trio to our Munich office to be a part of delivering that vision."
