Multinational law firm Pinsent Masons has appointed Pippa Wicks and Marcus Bokkerink as external members to its board.
The double appointment takes the firm's board representatives from eight to nine members in total and the duo bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and insight to the firm.
Pippa Wicks is co-founder of AlixPartners in Europe where she remains a Senior Advisor, and has held executive roles with Courtaulds Textiles plc, FT Knowledge (a subsidiary of Pearson plc), the Co-operative Group and John Lewis. She is also on the board of The Halo Trust, the world's largest land mine clearance and weapons management organisation, and Lift Schools a large multi academy trust.
Wicks is deeply experienced in advising organisations on their growth and transformation strategies and has held a number of c-level leadership roles, including Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Restructuring Officer.
Marcus Bokkerink served as Chair of the Competition and Markets Authority until earlier this year. Previously, he was a Senior Partner and Managing Director at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he led the firm's UK and European Consumer and Strategy practices and developed the firm's early China business.
During his time as Partner and Senior Partner, BCG grew ninefold from a boutique strategy partnership to a global multiline enterprise. He is highly experienced in advising boards and executive leadership teams on competitive growth strategies, reshaping portfolios, and adapting business models to capitalise on future technology, geopolitical and demographic shifts.
Suzanne Baxter, the firm's current external board member, will step down following the completion of her maximum term.
Andrew Masraf, Senior Partner and Chair of Pinsent Masons' board said of the appointments:
"The combined experience that Pippa and Marcus bring to our business is unparalleled. They have both advised global, multibillion pound organisations that span our firm's core sectors. Their sharp business acumen, experience in deploying AI technologies and progressive mindsets perfectly align with our vision and culture at Pinsent Masons."
"Pippa and Marcus will be succeeding Suzanne Baxter who has been an asset to our business for the last six years. During her time with us she actively served as Chair of our audit committee and has been an impactful board sponsor for our Disability and Wellbeing group. I'd like to extend my warmest thanks to Suzanne for her contribution to our firm and she has played a central role in our continued success."
Pippa Wicks said:
"I believe Pinsent Masons is poised for significant growth. With its geographic reach, multidisciplinary team, and sectoral expertise, the firm has gained positive momentum. The leadership team has a clear vision, and my experience will be instrumental in helping the firm achieve its goals."
Marcus Bokkerink added:
"Pinsent Masons has a truly unique culture, an inherent drive for innovation, and clear ambition. This is an exciting time to join the business. I look forward to helping the firm to harness its strong technologies, reinforce its competitive advantages and adapt the strategy and business model for the next phase of growth."
