Pinsent Masons Vario has appointed James Lewindon as Head of Client Development, UK for its Flexible Services business, further strengthening its senior team.
James joined the business on 6 May, bringing over a decade of experience in building and scaling legal resourcing platforms. He previously led Konexo, the alternative legal services arm of Eversheds Sutherland, for seven years, and most recently served as Interim CEO at Flex Legal. Known for his strategic approach and detailed understanding of the legal resourcing market, James has a proven track record of crafting agile and innovative solutions for in-house legal departments to help them achieve their objectives.
His appointment reflects Pinsent Masons Vario’s continued growth and investment in enhancing its alternative legal services offerings, as the business continues to attract best-in-class talent and see increasing demand across the globe. Just last year, its Flexible Services business launched in the Middle East, serving clients increasingly interested in improving their operations.
James is the latest in a number of significant senior hires by Pinsent Masons Vario. The appointment follows Ben Williams, former Managing Director of Peerpoint by A&O Shearman, becoming Head of Legal Operations & Technology Consulting and Gary Gray joining from Burness Paull LLP as Legal Director of Company Secretarial Services.
Matthew Kay, Partner and Head of Pinsent Masons Vario, said: “James is one of the most respected figures in the legal resourcing space, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to Pinsent Masons Vario.
“Our clients are increasingly looking to access legal services differently. They’re having to do more with less and need advisers who can provide them with outcome-focussed solutions, tailored to their needs. James’ hire will help ensure we continue to anticipate client demand and evolve our offering.”
Geraldine Kelm, Partner and Head of Vario Flexible Services, added: “Our focus is on helping our clients navigate today’s legal resourcing challenges with confidence. They need access to high quality legal talent that they can draw on as their needs change, without committing to a certain headcount.
“James understands these challenges better than most, and his appointment will help us to keep providing the very best resourcing solutions to meet our clients’ needs. His experience and network will be tremendous assets as we continue to strengthen our partnerships with clients across the UK and beyond.”
On joining the firm, James commented: “Pinsent Masons Vario has built a fantastic reputation in the market, not just for the quality of its lawyers but as a truly integrated part of the wider firm. I’m excited to join a team that really is shaping the future of alternative legal services and look forward to helping ensure the business’s impressive growth trajectory continues.”
