We are hosting two separate in-person sessions on the Subsidy Control Act 2022. One of the sessions is aimed at public bodies granting subsidies, the other session is aimed at private businesses. We will be looking at how the new legislation works, what it entails and what its main consequences are.
Our seminar will cover:
- What is a subsidy?
- The Subsidy Control Principles – what are they and what does their application entail?
- What is a Subsidy of Interest or a Particular Interest? What are the implications?
- Notifications to the Competition and Markets Authority
- Subsidies that relate to Services of Public Economic Interest and other special categories of subsidies
- Safe harbours (Streamlined subsidy schemes) and exemptions
- The Subsidy Database and transparency
- Mitigating the risk of a legal challenge
- Strategies for dealing with pre-action information requests and defending subsidy control challenges.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions to our expert panel.
Registration and a hot buffet lunch will be provided from 12:15pm, with the one-hour session commencing at 1:00pm. Following the session, there will be further refreshments together with another opportunity to network. The event will close at approximately 2:30pm.
