As international infrastructure and energy projects continue to grow in scale and complexity, the way disputes are managed can be just as critical to project success as the engineering and commercial decisions that underpin them.
Co-hosted with the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), this panel discussion examines how hybrid approaches to dispute resolution are shaping the delivery of complex international infrastructure and energy projects. The session will draw on the panel’s real-world experience to assess the effectiveness of different ADR mechanisms across the project lifecycle, from dispute avoidance through to final resolution.
The panel discussion will focus on three key themes:
- the role of expert determination and dispute board procedures as early-stage tools for dispute avoidance and project continuity;
- the evolving use of arbitration in mega projects, including on procedural efficiency and suitability; and
- the growing role of mediation as a complementary or alternative pathway to resolution.
